The PhD Talks are promoted by the KTUR project, which aims at strengthening cross-border knowledge and technology transfer in the Upper Rhine region. These monthly virtual meetings seek to instill and develop entrepreneurial thinking in PhDs, Postdocs and MA students. Participants will actively interact with research founders and international experts and learn how to transform cutting-edge research into innovative businesses.

Humanities & Startups
Laura Sibony, former student of Sciences Po, la Sorbonne and HEC, used to be a shy student. Thanks to the debating societies and eloquence competitions, she discovered the power of soft skills to gain self-confidence, clarity and impact in presentations. She is now teaching public speaking in her own company, and she is the author of L’Ecole de la Parole (Hachette, 2020).
Jonas Probst holds a Master of Advanced Studies in Psychology of Career Counseling and Human Resources Management from the University of Bern. In 2019 he cofounded Emplution, a startup which puts artificial intelligence at the service of personalized HR analysis, by complementing human with analytics.
Dr. Björn Stapelfeldt holds a Phd in Sport Science and was for 15 years the Head of Research and Development at the Department of Sport at the University of Freiburg. Since 2007 he is the Ceo of Radlabor. His company develops technology based products for the bicycle industry and offers a consulting service for bike retailers who have to meet the challenge of digitalization in customer relations and sales.
