KTUR Start-up Talks

Do you live in the Upper Rhine Region? Are you asking yourself what should be the next step in your career?

Join our monthly KTUR Start-up Talk and explore how to turn your ideas into a start-up adventure. Founders will tell you about their different entrepreneurial journeys while international experts will guide you through cross-border support opportunities.

The KTUR Start-up Talks are promoted by the KTUR project, which aims at strengthening cross-border knowledge and technology transfer in the Upper Rhine region. These monthly virtual meetings seek to instil and develop entrepreneurial thinking in any student from universities in the Upper Rhine region. Participants will actively interact with founders and international experts and learn how to start their innovative businesses.

The KTUR Start-up Talks go into their third season and the programme of the spring semester 2022 will address the following topics:

Topic: Your boldest idea

In this talk two founders give their insights into how they executed a big and bold idea to change the world. They will share their learning and tips on how to get started and going.

Speakers: 

Marius Bierdel is the co-founder of ConstelIR. Marius is an experienced aerospace engineer with deep knowledge of running full-scale development programs, most recently at Fraunhofer, Airbus & Jena Optronik. As CTO and Co-founder, Marius leads ConstellR´s , development and strategy of the first demonstrator mission on board of the ISS and the core satellite technology.

Fabian Zbinden is the co-founder of BEEYOND. Started as student start-up during his time at University of Applied Sciences of North-Western Switzerland, they want to save the bees from extinction through sustainable fashion.

Speakers: 

Dr. Markus Strauch holds a Phd in Economic and Behavioural Sciences from the University of Freiburg. He has a 14 years experience as independent coach and trainer in Positive Leadership for organisations, institutions and individuals as well. He currently coordinates the offer for strengths-based career orientation at the University of Freiburg.

William Gourdin Servenière, CEO Green Phoenix. Green Phoenix collects biowaste by cargo bike and recycles them locally into natural fertiliser and renewable energy. A unique way to act for Nature by combining technological and social innovation. Green Phoenix is also a team of 5 young entrepreneurs with complementary backgrounds, who have come together around common values.

Speakers: 

Pascal Rosenberger, Co-Founder eggheads
Pascal is an experienced communication professional and the co-founder of Eggheads. The company started as a Tripadvisor for continuing education. Little did they know that an experiment would not only turn their start-up in a different direction, but that they would help shape a new microlearning format. Meanwhile, eggheads makes it possible for companies to keep their employees up to date easily and entertainingly with chat-based learning tidbits.

Remy Perla, Founder of Epopia. Remy is a computer scientist who started his EdTech company, Epopia, 10 years ago to help children read and write through a personalized role playing game via snail mail. With a team of 20 people, he sent more than 300k mails in France and around the world. Remy is also investor and advisor for many startups and shares is experience as an entrepreneur in the Youtube channel “StartupQuest“.
