Innovation events

In April 2022, a trinational Innovation Day was held in Strasbourg for the first time. The Innovation Day Upper Rhine brought together nearly 1200 representatives of companies, researchers, start-ups and students from France, Germany and Switzerland. With inspiring plenary sessions and discussion panels as well as numerous networking opportunities, the event set the stage to become an important meeting point for innovation drivers in the tri-border region.

In addition, the KTUR partners organized several small topic-related transfer events in recent years, for example on the topic of Industry 4.0. These took place in different formats at various locations on the Upper Rhine and are aimed at industry and intermediaries. We provide information on current dates in the “News & Events” section.

Some of the twelve university partners on the Upper Rhine also offer their own innovation events, where participants have the opportunity to experience research and innovation from the respective university up close. You can find an overview of current innovation events of the universities on the Upper Rhine here:

University of Freiburg

At the Freiburg Science Fair, the University of Freiburg, the University Hospital and other universities, research institutions and innovative companies present research and innovation “hands-on” in several tents in the city centre of Freiburg every two years. The association “Academia meets Industry e.V.” brings students of pharmacy together with the pharmaceutical industry and partners in science. The Sustainability Center Freiburg (LZN) organizes so-called “Transfer Sessions” and “Science Days” which aim to promote the exchange between industry and science and initiate cooperation.

Karlsruhe Institute of Technology

Once a year, the Innovation Day NEULAND takes place at KIT. The event offers the opportunity to get to know technologies and start-up projects at KIT, to learn about research competencies, and to establish contacts.

Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University Loerrach

Innovation and transfer are essential for DHBW Lörrach’s role as a knowledge partner of the region. The dual study concept includes close cooperation between the university and companies (dual partners). In addition to high-quality education, the DHBW offers its partners application- and demand-oriented solutions and thus strengthens their innovative ability. At the DHBW the topics “innovation” and “entrepreneurship” are strongly linked. For this purpose, a workshop series entitled “Innopreneur” has been developed together with dual partners. The guiding ideas here are how students can be prepared for entrepreneurial thinking and what added value the univer-sity can offer with regard to corporate start-ups.

University of Strasburg

Generation Startup is a unique event that brings together project leaders, young entrepreneurs, start-ups or developing startups, investors, experts from the region, and support and guidance structures.
