The KIT Institute of Automation and Applied Informatics (IAI) successfully completed the CE Interreg project CEUP 2030 at the end of April 2022. The project focussed on promoting the joint networking of the research community with decision makers and industry within the topics of advanced manufacturing and industry 4.0. Best-practice examples, flagship projects together with a number of strategy documents will support the involved triple-helix stakeholders in implementing current topics such as artificial intelligence or automation in their respective working environments.
The KIT Institute of Automation and Applied Informatics (IAI), one of 10 partners of the CE Interreg project CEUP 2030 , has successfully bought the project to a close, having achieved all the intended outputs. The project started in 2020 with a total funding of 1.1 million Euros and was coordinated by the Krakow Technology Park (Poland). KIT as network leader, was in charge of creating a trend and innovation network in the topic ‘Intelligent Production Systems’ with the goal of bringing together regional and international stakeholders from 7 countries in order to design common strategies, conditions and to position the topic of I 4.0 and Advanced Manufacturing more strongly with regional decision-makers.
CEUP 2030 synergised the outputs and results of six EU funded twin projects, which helped create strong linkages between the stakeholders and in the further propagation of these results. The project conducted their final closing dissemination event in March in Vienna in conjunction with the opening of the EIT Manufacturing Co-location centre east.
Throughout the project, various regional workshops and transnational events were conducted connection regional and international stakeholders, such as the Policy learning Labs and tech trend dialog Meetings. With the focus of highlighting the latest developments being made in academia and newest requirements of Industry on policy makers. The specialised trend and innovation networks were established during the project and will continue to function even after the completion of the project. The aim is to facilitate joint digitalisation and advanced manufacturing projects in Central and Easter Europe by fostering the robust innovation system approach created by CEUP 2030.
The CEUP 2030 Project will also publish the final outputs in the coming days such as the policy intelligence dashboard, which will give snapshots on the current research and innovation ecosystem across central Europe and will prove an effective way for all stakeholder groups to receive the latest information on funding opportunities, scientific developments, trend radar analysis, flagship project and best practises. Along with these, multi-media showcases and e-brochures on each topic and subtopic within CEUP 2030 have also been created and available for viewing on the CEUP 2030 Website.
The project has furthered pathways for enhancing KIT’s strategic cooperation with Central European actors and 20 different follow-up flagship projects have also been launched, some of which have already seen successful funding, while other await evaluation results from EU and National funding schemes such as Horizon Europe.
