Lab visit Upper Rhine: come and discover INSA Strasbourg’s topography platform and how it is supporting a cross-border project to promote the heritage of the Rhine castles!

The Topography Platform at INSA Strasbourg, a leading French engineering and architecture school based in Strasbourg, is opening its doors for a tour of its facilities and a discussion with the research team on Wednesday, 4 February 2026, at 5:30 p.m. This technological training and R&D platform offers equipment (total stations, drones, laser scanners) and spaces dedicated to 3D measurement, photogrammetry, and GIS. It enables the practical implementation of surveying techniques, 3D modelling, spatial geodesy, and image processing, with research projects and collaborations (construction, archaeology, heritage, urban planning), integrating cutting-edge tools and industry professionals.

What to expect during this meeting, which will be held in French (and German for the presentation):

• Presentation of the work carried out as part of the cross-border Châteaux rhénans project (modelling and digital reconstruction of castles)
• Sharing experiences with professionals
• Discussions with researchers on the latest technological advances
• Opening up the field of cooperation in R&D
